AV Equipment

This room is equipped with:

  • Samsung 4k display

  • Logitech Rally Plus audio and camera system

To use the equipment, you will need to BYOD (bring your own device). 

Turning on the

  1. Turn TV on using the TV remote.

  2. Ensure the TV Source shows as HDMI

    1. If you are unsure, or it says something else, press the INPUT button on the TV remote at the top right. Change this to HDMI

Check the wireless keyboard is turned on (the on/off slider on the side facing away from you should be green).

Use the mouse trackpad and/or press a keyboard button to wake up the Mac Mini.

Wait up to 15 seconds and you should see the login screen or desktop.

Log in with the username svi and password svi

Transfer documents or presentations to the Mac mini by using the USB Hub.

  1. Alternatively, if you do not have a USB drive available, open Firefox and sign into your email/OneDrive (www.office.com).

  2. You can mount your network drives by navigating to Finder > Go > Connect to Server > smb://groups.svi.edu.au/groups or smb://homes.svi.edu.au/USERNAME.

Note

DO NOT SELECT REMEMBER IN KEYCHAIN.

Please remember to eject your network drives once you are finished. The easiest way to do so is to restart the Mac Mini.

Troubleshooting

Connecting your laptop

  1. Connect your laptop to the USB and HDMI cables which extend from the desk. A USB-C adaptor has been provided, do not remove this from the room.

  2. On your laptop, set your display settings to mirror on the large screen

    1. Windows – press and hold the Windows key and P – select Duplicate

    2. MacOS – System Settings>displays>display settings>select mirror

Using the Logitech Rally Plus for Teams or Zoom meetings

  1. When taking part in a Teams or Zoom call, make sure those apps are using the Logi Camera (ensure that you change from the Integrated Webcam to the Logi Camera in the Teams or Zoom apps) and the microphone input should be Logi Rally Audio.

    1. Both apps will prompt you to select your audio and camera devices when you start a meeting. Alternatively, before you start a meeting you can go into the Settings or each app and select your devices from there.

  2. The camera will activate and automatically point at the table once it is connected properly.

  3. Microphones are placed at both ends of the table (please do not move these)

  4. The camera will auto pan and tilt to focus on the person speaking but you can also control the camera and speakers from the Logitech remote

  5. Mute/unmute the mics by pressing the round button on either mic. The button is red when muted. Pressing the mute button on one pod will change both at the same time

Troubleshooting

No display on large screen

  • Ensure the TV is powered on

  • Press the INPUT button on the top right of TV remote and ensure HDMI 21 is selected

  • Ensure the Mac mini is turned on – check the power button is illuminated

  • Check the keyboard is turned on

  • Check the wireless receiver is plugged in to the USB Hub, and that the USB Hub is turned on and connected to the Mac mini

  • Disconnect the HDMI cable from the back of the Mac mini and reconnect it

  • Disconnect and reconnect the USB Hub (the black square plug next to the red HDMI cable)

  • Check the batteries in the wireless keyboard

  • Reboot the Mac mini by holding down the power button until it turns off, then turn it on againyour device is projecting to the wall screen as per display settings above

Audio issues

The Speaker Output should be Crestron Soundbar Logi Rally Audio

  • If Crestron Soundbar Logi Rally Audio is not showing in the your device list, ensure the Crestron Soundbar has a horizontal green light along the front of the soundbar.

  • Unplug and plug back in the soundbar from the Mac mini, this is the black cable plugged into the USB-C Adaptor (next to the red HDMI cable).

  • If the Soundbar is still not showing, pull the power on the Soundbar and leave it unplugged for 30 seconds before plugging it back in again. It may take up to 2 minutes for the Soundbar to boot uptry disconnecting the cables and reconnecting.

Microphone issues

The Microphone input should be Logi Rally Audio

  • Ensure the Logitech Display Hub has the power light illuminated.Unplug and plug back in the Display Hub from the Mac mini, this is the grey square plug.

  • Ensure the Microphone Hub on the table doesn’t have a red circle around the microphone icon – if so, this means it is muted so tap inside the circle to unmute and the light will turn white.

Camera/video issues

If there is no camera detected, ensure the Crestron Soundbar has a horizontal green light along the front of the soundbar

Unplug and plug back in the soundbar from the Mac mini, this is the black cable plugged into the one of the bottom USB ports on the Mac mini.

If you are having any issues, please speak with the IT team. Do not move or disconnect any of the AV equipment unless asked to by IT.
