FileSender - Sending or receiving content

SVI IT will assist where possible, however as FileSender is not managed by SVI, we will only be able to provide guidance.

If you require support, please read the AARNET Knowledge Base article provided or contact them via their contact form on their website - https://www.aarnet.edu.au/contact-us#contact-form
Make sure to select the FileSender option in the form.

Those with accounts at the University of Melbourne will have access to AARNet’s FileSender platform which permits the sending and receiving of data sets. SVI does not have access to FileSender directly.

Access to FileSender can be found here: https://filesender.aarnet.edu.au/ - On launch, you will be prompted to select your Institution to log in.

Sending content

To send content to others, access FileSender and select the Upload function.

You can send up to 1000 files with a maximum total of 10TB.

Files must be sent with an expiration date and files are deleted on their expiration and cannot be retrieved.

Receiving content

If you wish others to send content to you, they may have access themselves to FileSender, however if they do not, you can create Vouchers which allow others to send content into your FileSender account for you to download.

To receive content from others, access FileSender and select the Vouchers function.

You will need to enter their email address and expiration date at a minimum, once the voucher has been sent, they will receive an email from FileSender providing them the means to upload their content.

FileSender does not have any restrictions regarding file type. e.g. ZIP, EXE, etc.
