LabArchives Folder Monitor

The LabArchives Folder Monitor allows Windows and macOS users to automatically upload data into LabArchives. This includes data such as spreadsheets, word documents, PowerPoint presentations, etc.

LFM will upload a folder of files to your notebook of choice. The source folder can be anywhere on your computer.

The source folder cannot be a network drive. This is a limitation of the software.

Installation

  • SVI macOS devices - Install this via the SVI Self Service application.

  • SVI Windows devices - Install this via the Company Portal application.

  • Personal devices - Log in to LabArchives, click the triple dot icon at the top right and go to Downloads → Folder Monitor:

Setup

Log in to LabArchives.

Click on your name at the top right and choose LA App Authentication in the menu. You will need to retain this password to log in to LabArchives from the Folder Monitor in the next step.

When you start Folder Monitor for the first time you will need to change the settings:

  • The Webservice URL is: https://auapi.labarchives.com 

  • Login/Email is: svi_username@svi.edu.au, e.g. if you have a pre-2015 shortened username, you will need to use this, not your email address.

  • Password: Use the password token that you generated earlier

You can then select the source folder on your computer and the destination page in your notebook
