Windows 11 - Move Start Button and Taskbar Icons

Windows 11 shows the Taskbar and Start button in the centre bottom of the screen by default. If you want to move it so it is the same as what you are used to from Windows 10, follow the steps below.

Windows 11 does not support repositioning the taskbar itself elsewhere on the screen. If you don’t have the taskbar on the bottom currently, it will automatically be moved to the bottom following the upgrade.

 Instructions

 

  1. Right click the Taskbar and select Taskbar Settings

  2. The Settings window will open, scroll down and click Taskbar behaviours

  3. Click the drop down in the Taskbar alignment section and switch between Left and Centre

     

  4. You will see the Start menu shift position. You can now close the settings window.
