VPN for SVI devices - macOS

SVI IT does not permit the installation of the VPN on personal devices for security reasons.

This article will cover how to connect to the SVI VPN while off-site.

The SVI VPN can only be configured with the help of SVI IT due to administrative privileges being required during the installation process.

If you find Tunnelblick is missing, or you don’t have a connection profile, please contact SVI IT via an IT Request to have this resolved.

Instructions

  1. Open Tunnelblick on your machine. You can confirm the application is open by looking for this icon in your menu bar.

  2. Click on the icon and select “Connect USERNAME:NUMBERS”

  3. If prompted, input your SVI username & password.

  4. The application will then go through the process of connecting to SVI’s VPN.

  5. You will then be notified you are connected. You will be able to connect to SVI network shares as required.

NOTE: It is recommended you copy the documents you wish to work on to your machine. Working over the VPN can have unintended consequences in the event of disconnection which will lose work.
